The 13th annual Penny McHenry Hydrangea Festival Garden Tour took place the first weekend in June 2021. These are my pictures from the event with a few notes as best as I can remember nearly two years later. (I’m writing this in February 2023).
Summer and hydrangeas will be here before we know it, right?
Color and Texture in the Garden
The first weekend in June proves to consistently be the perfect weekend for hydrangeas. The colors are popping, indeed. And not just for hydrangeas. The Japanese maples (like the feathery version pictured below), along with daylilies and all manner of annuals and perennials were at their peak.
