Abra Lee’s “Conquer the Soil” on Salvation South

August 7, 2022 By Lucy Mercer Leave a Comment

My story about horticulturist and historian Abra Lee and her upcoming book, “Conquer the Soil: Black America and the Untold Stories of Our Country’s Gardeners, Farmers and Growers” is now on Salvation South.

Salvation South is a new online publication committed to telling good stories about the South, like Abra’s work telling the forgotten history of Black horticulturists.

Check out the story here: . As the mantra goes, like and share. I appreciate your support!
