Favorite Virtual Garden Backgrounds

November 4, 2022 By Lucy Mercer Leave a Comment

I’m fortunate to work from home. HR types call this “location independent.” While my remote status is a result of the pandemic, I worked mostly from home for five years prior to 2020.

I don’t miss the soul-sucking hours wasted in traffic. I do miss my cubicle packed with gardening books and tchotchkes. My desk was a pit stop for friends to stop by and chitchat about gardens, kids and food, all of my favorite subjects.

These days, I convey my love for gardening with virtual backgrounds. They’re dandy conversation starters. I jump on calls early and the first folks in the meeting will say Hi and ask about the gardens behind me.

Sometimes, I use my own pictures, but I mix it up with favorites from other gardens. Here are my favorites for you to bookmark. They’re easily downloadable and free to use:

Desert Botanical Gardens

Royal Botanic Garden Sydney

UCLA Botanical Garden

Longwood Gardens

Mount Vernon

In the comments, tell me know your favorite sources for downloadable digital backgrounds and I’ll add them to the story.
