Creating a garden is the slowest of the performing arts, to paraphrase a popular expression. Probably one of the most labor-intensive, too. I try to make as many of the local garden tours as I can, to enjoy and be inspired by garden artists.

May 1 to 3, 2026. Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation’s annual Spring Stroll of Gardens and Homes includes houses and gardens and they’re both impressive. Plus, you get a tour of the historic Hay House. Get details here.

Coweta County Master Gardener Garden Tour 2026

Soil Festival 2026
May 16, 2026, 11 am to 4 pm at Maddox Park. Sponsored by Food Well Alliance, the Soil Festival showcases garden experts in workshops for beginner gardeners, seasoned growers and everyone in between. Check out the event here.
